I'm really happy about this. It opens so many possibilities. I thought it would stop at making your own stage. But no Sakurai went as far as having a new stage once a day. And what i'm really happy about is this shuts up all of the people complaining that Brawl doesn't have enough tournament legal stages. I'm sure that the competetive scene will make about 10 official legal stages. And I don't know if it said this in the update but can you play the stages you made online? That would be nice.

^Seconded, and you bring up two very important points.

1. Sakurai is definetly trying to please the competetive gamers out there. Tournaments now have all the stages they want. Also, if you didn't notice, boxes that blow up are now marked with a symbol on the box, and they may even be able to be turned off (exploding items are the one and only thing that is stopping items from being tournament legal, not random span spots).
2. I actually don't want to be able to play these online. It would make it more special when you're having a big group of guys over at your house, you know? A custom stage wouldn't have the same effect online, atleast thats what I think.

I don't but I am going to make some crazy inventions for stages with this option, and I think you will be able to play in them online but with friends only, not with strangers, that's why I think, who knows. So far everyone seems to like this update, except for one or two people in these sites.

Yeah, if you can send them to your friends then I'm sure you can play them online ^_^

Seconded. This stage is one of the most unique ones yet. Will play this stage a lot if it is how I am imagining it.

If the water feature (where you no longer go down the water as if there wasn't any water like Melee; instead you can swim and whatnot) is true, then now there are alternate possibilities and strategies for fights in stages with water in them, for example, when trying to KO someone as they are trying to recover in the new Ice Climbers' stage by swimming, you spike them but they would no longer die immediately, but submerge inside the water and have the ability to emerge again, so now it would be obligation to try to KO them sideways or up. So I would be happy if that is truly there, but we don't know for sure.

^Yeah, swimming has virtually been confirmed. Even before this update the members of SmashBros had found a vid of Pikachu swimming for a few brief moments.

Well that's good then, thanks for telling me. Now I believe strongly that aquatic Pokémon (specially Goldeen) will have more powerful attacks.

The question has also arisen: What will happen to Charizard? Nearly all sources indicate that "If the flame on Charizard's tail goes out, Charizard dies." Will he be able to swim? Will he even be able to touch water, for that matter?

I saw somewhere on smashboards that the e for all players say that you can swim for a brief time. Then you sink.

And leve. I don't think it will really matter for charizard. I'm sure he will be able to swim. Even though it doesn't really make sense.

Yeah Leves, I'm pretty sure it only says that for a Charmander...once it matures into Charmeleon or Charizard it can re-ignite it at will. I think.

Today's video is simply amazing.

^Yes, it was quite a surprise. Didn't expect a non-player antagonist pokemon character to be incorporated into the storyline. Looks like they're going all out with this 'Boss' feature. Hopefully after we've defeated a boss, we can play them at will (similar to an event), that would be a nice little addition that I would be sure to use.

I would love that. Only if you could use whatever character you wanted to though.

@Cyan don't worry about the reflector, it's just for dramatic effect. Which i'm sure you figured out by now.

Yeah, that would be cool. Although Rayquaza looks to be out cold, I doubt he's a boss...or at least not yet. Maybe comes back for revenge later? I'd expect the Pokemon boss(s) to be the new legendaries from D/P and that movie (besides being totally awesome) was Sakurai's way of sticking as many Pokemon as possible into the game.

And Cyan, don't even worry...the gameplay videos show him pulling it out a lot faster, and considering the speed of Rayquaza's first Hyper Beam compared to the second I'm sure that whole part was in Slow-Mo anyways. It's cool to see how exactly it works though ^_^
